All you ever wanted to know about recruitment in Europe

An alternative to Psychometric Testing.....

Hi Everyone,

I recently came across a lady who in a nutshell uses her handwriting analysis expertise to provide her Clients with an alternative to the more conventional SHL, Thomas International, McQuaig's etc. If you want to have a read, take a look at www.Graf-O-Lojikal.co.uk

I can understand that this method may not be universally agreeable but let me know your comments.

Thanks,
Suky

Handwriting analysis (or graphology) has very ancient origins and maybe is true that features in our handwriting (pressure, inclination, proportions, spacing, etc.) reflect somehow our personality. Similar considerations are made also about body language and other gestures. I think all of these interpretations are highly empirical, sometimes there is the statistic that supports these but could be dangerous to generalise.
As many other things, also graphology helps but doesn’t give the full answer about personality. However I do not think exist any methd or anybody able to povide you with this. Humans are too complex machines!

And then, the main problem of graphology is … who write anymore using pen and paper?
Maybe we should wait for “keyboard-ology” :-)

I'm guessing that this woman is UK based. If that is the case, I'm afraid that the claim on her website that you can use graphology for "personnel selection" is misinformed and actually potentially dangerous for anyone who takes it at face value.

There is no evidence showing graphology has more than a chance prediction of job success and as such it would definitely not stand up if challenged. You should also consider the face validity of this in a world where the vast majority of jobs involve much more typing than writing.

If you're looking for an alternative to the companies you mention or want something that can deliver a bit more then let me know as I might be able to help you.
